I had the most wonderful time with Julia and Brandon! When she reached out for a summer engagement session in Canmore, I was thrilled. I absolutely love the mountains – and puppies! Clients always ask if they can bring their pets to their engagement session, and the answer is always YES. The more paws, the better. Here’s a little about this amazing couple:
How did you meet?
Brandon and I went to the same high school growing up and knew each other through friends of friends. We really didn’t connect until after high school when we both moved to the same city. (We are both originally from Nova Scotia). After multiple dates and 6 months of connecting with each other Brandon asked me to be his girlfriend through a handwritten card. The rest is history!
How did you get engaged?
We got engaged at Quarry Lake in Canmore on April 17, 2020 during Covid-19. It was a rainy day and we were both tired of being cooped up in the house. We had planned to head to the mountains for a drive and take our puppy for a walk. Once we arrived at the lake we walked all the way around the lake. Near the end Brandon, got down on one knee with the most beautiful ring and asked me to marry him. I remember being in so much shock. The whole thing was a complete surprise that it took me a minute to process everything. But of course I said yes!
How has wedding planning been going despite Covid-19?
Planning a wedding during Covid-19 definitely has not been super easy. We have made the best of it as it is such a fun and exciting time in your life. It has been tough with communication as a lot of places are closed and or have shortened their hours of operation. It adds character wearing a mask in all places and when trying on the wedding attire for ourselves and the bridal party. Â
What’s one piece of advice you would give future couples when planning a wedding?
The biggest piece of advice I would give is to plan as much as you can right away. It’ll make the months leading up more stress free. Time flies when you’re planning!
