I had the pleasure of shooting Nicholas and Brittany’s engagement, wedding and maternity sessions over the past few years and was over the moon to capture their lifestyle session.  I’m slowly transitioning my work from capturing weddings to families.  I absolutely love being a Calgary family photographer; you can view some previous work here.  With that said, I was so excited to meet Baby J after capturing Nicholas and Brittany’s maternity session (which I’ll be blogging shortly).  During their session, I don’t think he made a peep the entire time.  Usually I warn parents that their little one may need to stop frequently. Whether that be to nurse or have their diaper changed, but this wasn’t the case for their session!

When preparing for your session, it’s always a great idea to crank the heat up, as well.  Having a warm house will help your little one stay comfortable and (hopefully) asleep!  I also often get asked what my clients should wear.  I tend to recommend anything “flowy” as it’s more comfortable.  If your wardrobe is more limited (and you lived in leggings like me), then there’s a few stores I recommend!  H&M as well as Simons and even The Gap all have great options.  At the end of the day, the most important thing is to have fun and cherish those sweet moments that pass by too fast!
