A Fall Elopement at Alloy

As a Calgary elopement photographer, I adore capturing intimate elopements. There’s nothing quite like celebrating your unity with your closest family and friends. And, for some reason, I find dealing with uncertain weather conditions less stressful than when shooting full day weddings – no clue why! That said, I think I speak for the majority of Calgarians when I say that this past summer was a complete letdown. It felt as though we hit more record lows than we did highs. So, when Lian reached out about her elopement on September 20th, I fully expected to be working around gale-force winds, a tumultuous downpour, surprise snow, or all of the above… which is why I was shocked (and pleasantly surprised) that we were hit with 30 degrees and a beautiful sunny sky! It was the perfect weather for Lian and Paul’s elopement at Alloy.

Once I arrived, I got Paul set up on the patio for his first look with Lian. They both looked magazine ready, with Paul’s custom tailored suit, and Lian’s incredibly gorgeous wedding dress. We took a few quick pictures around the perimeter of the restaurant before heading back inside for their ceremony – which was officiated by their good friend, Jenny (who did an amazing job)! Afterwards, we jumped right into family portraits so the new Mr. and Mrs. could sit down and celebrate with their friends and family over an amazing meal. Congrats Lian & Paul!
